A stray black cat arrived in our garden about 15 months ago.  After a few weeks of seeing it around, I decided to start feeding it… I couldn’t let it starve.

I’ve fed this cat since then.  He/she was definitely very wild.  I don’t know whether it was male or female so I’ll just refer to it as it from now on because I can’t decide how to type the story otherwise

It never tried to come inside the house, and slept in the garden.  It wouldn’t let any of us get close at all and would hiss at us if we tried to touch it.

Yet, I liked having it around… and now I think it’s gone.

We haven’t seen it in about 2 weeks, but the food has been finished every day.  Not that that says very much, because the hadedas and doves got a strange liking to catfood and polished off the cat’s food by the end of each day anyway.

Oh well, I just hope it’s found somewhere nice and cosy and warm to live this winter and that it’s being fed.

I’m really so very tempted to get the boys a pet now.
