I’ve started getting asked what I want for Christmas, and a blog post is the best way possible to get that list sorted. I’ve decided to dream big this year, even though it’s highly unlikely that I’ll get them… but who cares right, this is my blog, and this is what I actually do want!
1. The post actually got started when I saw the link from Christine Meintjes to this little number on Twitter. This image backup device is a storage device that lets you plug in your CF cards and download them. What a win when you’re doing a massive event! Love the idea, would hate to know how much it actually costs though.
2. A Diana lomography lens with a Canon attachment. It’s really not expensive at $42 the only problem is actually getting it to South Africa!
3. A Canon 50mm f2.8 Macro lens – the cheapest in the macro lens range would do me just fine, but the 100mm would be so much nicer!
4. A Opteka Fisheye Lens attachment for my 50mm lens, so I don’t have to spend oodles on a new lens! I really like those attachments, they’re really reasonable and work well.
5. A Ginger Mary handbag. I saw the most divine Tan coloured bag last week… and a red one… and a fabric one… I liked them all!
6. MAC make-up.
7. Anything from Big Blue
8. Salad servers. Seriously, I know it seems small, but I use blue Tupperware ones, and I hate them with a passion
9. A tray. I seriously haven’t got a nice tray in my kitchen. Or even better, a nice trolley because my lapa is SO FAR from the house, and it’s major schlep to cart the stuff there when we have a braai.
10. Outdoor cushions for my steel patio set – those thinnish ones from Mr Price Home… LOVE them!
11. Anything moroccan in style for my new patio area that we’re working on. We’ve taken down part of the carport and made it another outside covered seating area. We just have to make it look nice. I need big pots, pavers, cushions, lamps, new tablecloths etc etc
12. Perfume always works for me
13. A new carpet for my lounge, I’m tired of the red persian rug I have in that room
14. And on the bag front… I saw the most divine leather wallet in Woolies of all places, made in India. It’s beautiful!
15. I forgot about the photography books I want!! Flash technicques by Neil van Niekerk (one of my favourite bloggers) or Joe McNally’s book, the Hot Shoe Diaries on flash usage or Wedding Photography Unveiled or in fact, any of the good books reviewed on Digital Photography School’s list
OK, I think I should stop now
I know… it’s more like wishful thinking… but I can dream can’t I? And anyway, I like lists
You will however notice that the Shootsac is no longer on my wishlist
that’s because I’ve bought it and it’s on it’s way to me via my cousin in the US. And my dream lens, the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS… I’m going to order it today
My presents to me from me for the year!

Too funny! The salad servers thing made me laugh because one of the items I’ve asked for is a can opener. Mine’s broken and wow. You never realize how much you use something until it’s broken and you must ask the man folk to use their muscles to open simple cans (fyi, it still works, you just have to add a lot of pressure).
Anyway, people laugh when they see this, but it’s these small little things that rock our world on a daily basis!

I do so love being able to make lists like this and dream big!
