18/365 – Huskies pink noses

I took a few photos today and Connor decided that this one was going to be my photo for the day.

See the pink stripes on their noses? ¬†Siberian huskies noses get pinker when it gets cold… and theirs is getting pinker as the day is progressing… we’re in for one jolly cold weekend according to the weather bureau, and I’m thankful that I’ve only got one shoot booked actually :)

They’re going on a doggy playdate on Sunday afternoon, when it’s apparently going to be 12 deg C, I’ll try get a close up of their noses then to see the difference the temperature makes.

And this photo just makes me smile, so I have to add this one too… love how Kitara is anticipating Kimo’s bite.

Your huskies are beautiful. Its really interesting with their noses changing color. My retriever’s nose is getting quite pink, but I think she’s been sniffing all the black off of her nose when we go out for walks! I look forward to tomorrow’s pic!

They are so cute. I do think that they are much more ideally suited to the cold weather than we are though…! :)

Our lab’s noses also get pinker in winter- well the yellow lab, and then darker in summer to almost black. Althpigh our black one is a “true black” – in other words even her skin, gums etc is black , and her nose stays black too
