19/365 – outside the window

What an insane day… and I didn’t even have a photoshoot in the end… they all got postponed!! But we’certainly had a most hectic day, and I don’t feel like posting twice tonight, so my photo post is going to be a bumper one.

I’m in two minds about what to choose for my photo today, so I’m choosing just one that I took through the car window on the way to Parys to visit MIL today, and I’ll put the other few on my photography blog… cos they’re arty and stuff… LOL… no really just because my photography blog is feeling a little neglected cos I don’t have a shoot this weekend anymore.

Now that I’m doing the 365 project again, I’m back into the swing of taking my camera out everywhere again… I was carrying it everywhere but not taking it out often, if that makes sense. Β And this also means that I’m starting to practice my high speed shooting from the car window again as we’re zooming down the N1 to Parys πŸ™‚ LOL!

As you can see it was a really miserable day, and we drove through rain on the way to Parys, and it was simply freezing. Β Not that it stopped the kids from playing on their scooters in the streets… it’s their highlight of the Parys trip… our street at home is far too busy for this kind of fun…

The other thing we did today was visit China Mall this morning, and I’m kicking myself for not taking photos there. Β We went there to get the masks etc for Bradley’s entrepreneurs day this coming week. Β It was my first visit to the mall, and I quickly got the lingo of “stock price” πŸ™‚ Amazing that buying 10 of an item will get you the thing at half price literally!! It’s a rabbits warren in there… so many stores and so much stuff and so noisy etc, but actually not that atmospheric… it felt a little clinical and not at all as chaotic and interesting as I expected. Β Which is one of the reasons I didn’t take photos actually… but maybe I should go back.

The kids think I’m a wonderful mom again… spent the whole day with them, and made cupcakes this evening with them πŸ™‚ they loved that! But it was a little sad in the end when we were doing the icing and I commented that we needed to hurry, and Connor said “because you need to go to a wedding… ” … that broke my heart just a tad. Β We actually needed to hurry so we could watch a movie on TV together.

This is going to sound horrible and is really not meant to in the least, but:
Oh, thank goodness for that comment from Connor!
My poor Megan also often has to deal with being late for stuff or missing out on things she wanted to do because I’m stuck in meetings a lot of the time and I always feel so guilty when she just quietly tells me that she understands because she knows I “was stuck in a meeting” again…
I guess I just feel relieved that I’m not the only one who seems to sacrifice a lot of family time for work…

Oh Jenty, A often makes comments – I even feel crappy to just go to gym or something like that. I think it is pretty standard kid stuff.

Love the shots – the one of C is stunning

I used to get that from my knucklehead when I was working for a massive FMCG company too. He’d ask if I could take him to visit a friend or if a friend could come over to play on a weekend and I would have to say no and before I could finish my sentence he’d say “because you’re working again”. Broke my heart. Best thing I ever did was leaving that company.
