27/365 – Petting a lion cub

I took the boys to the Lion Park just outside Johannesburg today. ย We haven’t been in such a long time, and the kids were so excited about feeding the giraffe and petting the lion cubs ๐Ÿ™‚ Connor wanted to stay with the cubs for longer, whereas Bradley’s highlight was definitely feeding the giraffes with their uber long black tongues!

I’ve got the most amazing photos of them feeding the giraffe and of the lion cubs, and those will be up on my photography blog tomorrow night… but this one is definitely my favourite for the day.

For some reason I decided to only pack my 50mm lens today… because I determined to make this day about having fun with the kids and not my photography… but I must admit that I got just a little frustrated on the game drive with such a short lens… but anyhoo, these photos were worth it ๐Ÿ™‚ … and my back was happy that it didn’t have a heavier bag to carry ๐Ÿ™‚

If the cubs have too much contact with humans they get sick…. they shouldn’t be used as money-making attractions like that, look at them in awe yeah but nooooo touching. Really makes me mad.
