A walk with huskies 55/365

Gee whizz… 55 days into my project 365 already!!

Apart from an inordinate amount of blogging, I spent the day with the kids and Lance.  He had to go to a meeting this afternoon, so I took the kids and the dogs to Delta Park for some outside fun in the gorgeous weather.

I was a little worried about taking them today.  Kitara’s foot or leg is not in the greatest of shapes, and she still randomly hobbles.  And the poor dog is completely pooped after today’s marathon walk, and is barely mobile now… not that you’d say that after seeing these photos and watching her running and swimming and hunting and playing etc today at Delta Park.  So I reckon that a trip to the vet is in order tomorrow evening after work…

But anyhoo, I cannot possible choose one photo today, and I’ve had SO MUCH FUN editing them with my new VSCO presets for Lightroom 4... so I have to blog a few.  I’ve actually also got the VSCO iPhone app although I must say it’s not the easiest phone editing app to use… it’s a little too finicky for the iPhone although the results are amazing too!  And if you’re wondering about the lens today… again I only carried my 50mm f1.4 on me… it’s the lightest and smallest lens I have 🙂

I’m not sure why I love this photo so much…

Such happiness when you can run through black marshy mud!

… and swim in the water…

… and then run as fast as you can to dry off a bit…

They weren’t together and still for very long today…

… and it didn’t take long before she headed for the trees again…

… and then up a hill to hunt something… thankfully she didn’t catch anything…

and once she started listening and coming to me, Kimo started ignoring me…

… it was a fabulous afternoon.

The kids went off to play on the jungle gyms for part of the walk, so they had a happy time too 🙂

As you can imagine, my car is not very happy though… the dogs really stank by the end of the trip 🙂

I am on day 112 of my photo a day and it really makes you realise how quickly the time passes!!!! Little bit scary 🙂

I wish we had a big park like this close to us – Lucy would love it!

The park isn’t all that close… takes 20 minutes to drive there from my house… and OMW the dogs go ballistic in the car on the way 🙂 but it’s worth it, they absolutely love it

Looks like your dogs had a fantastic time.

I’ve recently found a nature reserve not too far from home that lets you bring dogs in (on leashes but its better than nothing). I’m planning a trip with our pooch soon … I suspect my car won’t be very happy about this afterwards either 🙂

Well, I didn’t take her to the vet, she was fine by the next morning. We actually think it’s caused by Kimo biting her leg… so we’re going to try spray that licking repellent on her leg and see if it makes a difference.
