The day it snowed 43/365

It snowed in Jozi yesterday, and although Sandton seemed to get the raw end of the deal and we barely got any snow compared to most of Johannesburg, but that didn’t stop us from running out the building every time we saw it start again.  The problem is that it takes so long to get outside, that we kept missing the hectic snow fall, and catching the end of it!! LOL!

My only regret was that I didn’t get to play in the snow with the kids :( although my mom has got awesome photos of them in the snow at her house in the afternoon.

The last time it snowed in Joburg, in June 2007, I left Connor with Beauty, and bundled 4 year old Bradley into my car and zooted to Zoo Lake where we made snow balls and played in the snow (the photos are here).  Connor often asks about the snow, and says he wants to play in it… so yesterday evening when I picked him up and asked him about it he just said “Mommy, dreams do come true and I even ate it” :) cute boy! Apparently every time it started snowing, the teachers let the kids run outside and play and then they went back inside when it stopped… it could not have been a very productive day anywhere in Jozi!!

I spotted Lerato on the deck trying to get a photo of herself with her phone, so asked her if she’d like me to take a photo rather :)

We didn’t even get that much snow in Midrand! I was so excited when it started because I’ve never seen snow and there was such a little bit I was quite green with envy looking at other people’s photos!
