Lunch at the Peach Cafe 74/365

07.09.2012 12:39pm to 2:53pm

I was determined to get to the Peach Cafe before my leave was up, and even though the weather was properly grotty, we made our way there for lunch today… and we LOVED it!!

My mom joined us for lunch… “us” included 2 of the kids’ friends who they were having a playdate with.

Peach Cafe is an amazing restaurant/cafe tucked away close to Fourways on a working peach and veggie farm called Camdeboo Farm.  I’m definitely going to take the kids back there in a few months to pick peaches!! It was absolutely freezing when we got there, and Sian and Greg (the chefs) were quick to offer us heaters and seats in the middle of the cafe area away from the open sides.

I loved the pots of flowers that were everywhere, and the bright colourful tablecloths!

… and the kids loved the hot chocolate made specially to warm cold bodies…

As for the food, it was scrummy!! I had the chicken and veg pie (all the veggies were from the farm), and my mom had a spinach, mushroom and smoked mozzarella pie.

There were still one or two trees with peach blossoms…

I just loved the farmstall with the jams and honeys and fresh farm eggs!

And the kids were thrilled that they were able to feed the geese… spot the cute week-old goslings!! There were also quite a few little lambs on the farm too, but I didn’t see them… although the kids did!

What an amazing spot!! We’re definitely going back!!

Thanks my girl .. it was an amazing lunch at an amazing place !! Love the photos – especially the one with Bradley and Angelique in the trees. The goose egg would make a nice scrambled egg!! The babies were too cute !!

You always find such fun places to visit. We’re definitely going to find this play and give it a try! Like the idea of peach picking! Lovely post – really like the photograph of Bradley and his friend!

Lovely pictures. The one of B and the little girl looks like an engagement/couple picture. Sorry, I know it is many many years before that would happen :-)
