It was my friend Ross’ 40th birthday yesterday, and I joined him and his friends at The Foundry in Parktown North for dinner. How cool is this? It’s the wall we were sitting next to… they’ve chiselled away at the plaster to expose the brick work in the most divine pattern.
I enjoyed my evening thoroughly, and it was awesome to catch up with ex-colleagues that I haven’t seen in ages. I love that they’re all doing so well…
If you’re wondering about the place and the food, considering it’s such a new spot in town… we had a massive table of people (and the rest of the place was full which is fab for a Tuesday evening) and the service was fabulous. The mojitos were incredible! The starters that they brought for everyone to share were gorgeous… they were platters of cheeses and cold meats with pizza breads, as well as crostinis with toppings (the olive tapenade was too yummy).
As for the mains… I had pork belly with a warm potato salad… I chose the wrong dish… it was too rich and starchy for me, and although it tasted good, I didn’t enjoy it all that much, especially after all the starters (which I didn’t realise we were going to get when I ordered)
Will I go there again? Probably, if we’re going out for a casual meal with friends.

Wow, incredible !
It sounds awesome! I definitely want to try it out one night
