Halloween at Brightwater Common 128/365

 31.10.2012 4:46pm

We took the kids to the Brightwater Common Halloween thing this evening.  It was the first time we’d been to that Halloween shindig, and probably the last time we’d do it.

Don’t get me wrong, the kids loved dressing up and going trick or treating.   And in fact, it’s probably the best place to do it in Joburg if you don’t live in a housing estate of some sort.  However, after walking around for a bit, and contemplating and then laughing off the endless queue for the ghost house, and paying R25 for the kids to use the jumping castles for 30 minutes, we were kind of over it.

I did love the people watching though, and the costumes we saw were incredible!!

Also we did the right thing by being there early… when we left just after 6pm, it was bedlam and there was chaos in the parking areas!! We decided not to stay there for dinner (mostly because none of us have had a good dining experience there), and instead we went to our local Spur for supper before going home.

It was a lovely evening with friends though… glad we didn’t go alone

I couldn’t resist taking photos of everyone around us too ;)

Gosh today was busy… in addition to taking the kids to the Halloween thing… and working, I…
… organised a new giveaway for this little blog :) I get the item tomorrow and will then put the post up
… got interviewed by e.TV for a story they’re doing on remote jamming after they found my blog posts about my stolen camera and the insurance debacle.  It’ll be aired on channel 403 some time tomorrow morning.
… got invited to a media event for the launch of a new spa

Funny, isn’t it! We never had this when we were kids. Looks odd to see these little monsters around. The kids in our street were trick or treating. I bought some jelly snakes, but they didn’t knock on our gate – think our panhandle was too scary for them :)
