We had a big day yesterday. Lance and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary… that’s right SIXTEEN!
Bradley also had his first camp out. One of the other “traditions” at the school is a campout on the school grounds for Grade 4’s… without parents… only teachers in attendance. He seems to have had a ball… although he was supposed to be sharing a tent with 2 other boys… the one boy decided before sleep time to join other friends in their tent, and then the other boy (whose tent it was) decided he was afraid of the dark and this tent was too dark for him, so he crept out and joined another tent that was apparently lighter (makes little sense to me). Anyhoo, point is… Bradley slept on his own in a tent.
He handled it pretty well, and seemed pretty happy when he got home, although I’m not sure how I feel about this.
And then, Connor stayed at my parents for the night. It’s was the first time he’d slept somewhere without Bradley. That went well, and I think he enjoyed being the centre of attention
So as a result of all this alone-ness… Lance and I managed to go out for dinner to celebrate. We went to the new Squires Loft restaurant in Parkhurst. It’s on 4th in the Clock Tower centre, where Melissa’s is. The service was impeccable! The food out of this world… the steaks (once they realised that Lance’s well-done meant completely dead after sending his steak back twice) were unbelievable!! As a starter, Lance and I shared a watermelon and haloumi stack… yum, except there was a little too much haloumi even for 2 of us. For mains, I had the Supreme, a fillet stuffed with bacon and covered in mushroom sauce served with mash potatoes and asparagus. Lance ordered the Mustard, a sirloin with mustard sauce on spinach and it came with chips and onion rings.
LOVED the evening! Definitely a RECOMMEND from me
