On Wednesday, after getting my race numbers, we headed to Table Mountain to go up the cable cars. There was great excitement in the car because it was a first for both boys. In fact, Lance and I have only been up there once together before.

I was checking the website like a hawk to see whether the cable cars were open because the clouds looked a little heavy from where we were, and how long the queues were, but we planned it perfectly to miss the main holiday rush and we only had to wait 10 minutes to get up there.

We watched the guys abseiling for a bit

Watched this guy perching on a random rock…

I took in all the plants… the boys powered ahead

I GOT INTO SOME PHOTOS! Whoop 🙂

The boys loved feeling the clouds rolling in

Then we drove to Signal Hill to take in the view of the mountain

And we had to walk to the new sun art installation on top of the hill… it’s really quite something. It’s made from the fences on Robben Island and faces the island. It’s powered by solar panels.

Yes, it was an expensive day… but it was worth it. The kids loved it and so did we 🙂
