I was invited to the launch of the new Starbucks Christmas range by Zomato. I went along to the launch event held at Starbucks Reserve in Rosebank this evening. One of the things I got to taste was the Starbucks gingerbread latte.

It was actually the first time I’d been to Starbucks. I bet you’re surprised at that statement! LOL! I just took one look at the queues I saw on social media and decided that no matter how special the coffee was, the queues were not worth it. So, this event was an ideal opportunity for me to try the coffee out.

Thankfully after about 10 minutes of awkward wandering around, I found Bronwynne and Karl amongst the crowd. It was fabulous catching up with them, and chatting about our running 🙂 I also finally got to meet @AnneDoli in real life!

I loved the look of the Christmas range of goodies. My favourite is the white mug with the candy cane handle, although I know Connor would love the snowman face mug. It’s a really great gift range for coffee lovers like me… I wouldn’t mind one or two of these items.

I’m very intrigued by the Christmas coffee blend… I need to try that.

While we were being entertained by Tamara Dey’s group Shoowop Shop, Starbucks handed around sample sizes of some of their new Christmas menu range.

I absolutely loved the Starbucks gingerbread latte. Just before I left, we got to try the frappe version of the drink too. I wasn’t as impressed with that version, as I was with the hot latte.

I’ll definitely be back for another gingerbread latte.

And as for the whole Starbucks experience, I thought it would be a smaller coffee shop actually. None of the photos I’d seen of it, had made it look as bright, big and spacious as it is. And thankfully it sounds like the queues are a thing of the past, so I may actually venture there now.
