I left a notebook in my car a few days ago, because I’d had an external meeting. Bradley got hold of it and my pink pen while I was taking them home. When we got home, he told me that I needed to open the notebook at work the next day and look for pages that he’s numbered L1 and L2… he’d left me something to read.
And then he reminded me again in the morning, thankfully because he knows how forgetful I am
Aren’t they sweet

The dodo note made me smile. I love the arrow with the word “feathers” just in case I couldn’t work it out
And as for the other one, I may have had a tear in my eye when I read it.
I don’t often blog about things that Bradley says anymore, mostly because he’s so big now and he doesn’t say “cute” things anymore. But sometimes the conversations around words and reading them just need to recorded.
He’s reading up a storm now, and my Kindle was his favourite pastime while we were on holiday… and he loved using the dictionary function to help him understand new words that he was reading. He’s also trying to understand acronyms and the reasons why words are what they are.
A few days ago, he had this conversation with Lance, and I was listening in.
Bradley: “Daddy, what does ATM mean?”
Lance: “It stands for automatic teller machine”
Bradley: “That’s what Mommy said, but the machine doesn’t tell me anything”
LOL!! He’s right, cannot argue with that!

A discussion in the car somewhere on the N2 between Mooi River and
Harrismith.
Connor: “Daddy, when will you be a policeman?”
Lance: “Never, I’m too old”
Connor: “But you were in the army”
Lance: “yes but that was a long time ago when I was young”
Connor: “Well, I’m going to be a police”
Lance: “But then you won’t be able to buy a Ferrari cos they don’t earn a lot of money”
Connor: “but I can get a gun”
Lance: “But when you’re big you can just buy a gun ”
Connor: “and can I still shoot baddies?”
Lance: “no”
Connor: “then who can I shoot?”
He wasn’t happy with any of the answers cos they didn’t involve shooting people.
Funny child.
A conversation while trying to get the kids going this morning. And yes, I’m blogging from the beach again.
Me: “1 brush your teeth, 2 find your cap”
Connor: “and what’s number 3? Oh I know, do a wee”
Me: “Havent you done one yet? I told you ages ago to do a wee, and brush your teeth? Why must I say things over and over again? Why must I fight with you all the time?”
Spot the frustrated mom **rolling eyes**
Connor just looks at me and shakes his head “I don’t know mom. I don’t know why I must fight with myself either”

Just had this conversation with Connor on the beach (yes I’m blogging on the beach
).
Connor: “I wish I was Bradley”
Me: “why?”
Connor: “cos he’s just so awesome”
Aww I love him so
I did correct him though and tell him that he should just be himself cos he’s just as awesome… And then I gave him loads of reasons why.

I was reading a few stories to Connor in bed this afternoon, trying to get him to nap because he’s getting sick again (and it’s SO the wrong time cos we’re going on holiday soon!). Between books, I put some tatgoo on my tattoo cos it was getting itchy, and he asks…
“Mommy, will you have your tattoo forever?”
Me: “Yes, forever and ever”
Connor: “Even when you’re dead?”
Me: ”Even when I’m dead. Everyone will know forever that I love you and Bradley”
Connor: “Then we’ll have to give you a kiss through the ground”
Aww my huggable child
I swear, he is just loves affection… he cannot get enough hugs and kisses from us
A conversation in the car yesterday:
Connor “Mommy, when will you get old?”
Me “me?” thinking that I’d heard wrong
Connor “yes”
Me “Don’t you think I’m old?”
Connor “No”
Ahhh I love this child
)
And on the subject of age, I haven’t decided on my tattoo yet for my Project 40 Bucket List :/

Bradley is such an awesome kid… he really is.
Yesterday evening, there was a lady walking down my parents road when I went to pick the kids up. I noticed immediately that she was wearing the hugest slippers ever… you know those humungous monster feet with claws sticking out. Well, she was just strolling down the road wearing a baby strapped to her back.
So I smile, and say to the boys, who were in the car by then “Look at that lady’s shoes, aren’t they funny”
Bradley takes one look at her, looks at me and retorts “Mommy, it’s not nice to laugh at what other people are wearing”
OMW, did he put me in my place!! He’s right of course. But it still was funny
I was editing today’s images listening to the boys conversation downstairs when I heard this…
They were watching an animated programme on TV about superheroes, and Connor asked Bradley to explain part of the story. So as part of the explanation, Bradley had to explain what the word sacrifice meant, and he told him that the one guy had to sacrifice himself to save the other person.
So Connor replies quite ernestly “Bradley, I know, I know, I’ll sacrifice you”
LOL, he clearly understood the concept
Connor’s best friend at the moment is Jordan. At the party today, Jordan and Connor were inseperable… possibly partly because they were the youngest in the crowd… but also because they’re such good friends at school even though Jordan is a year older than Connor.
So Lance commented about the friendship during the party, to which Connor replied “but we’re twins, Dad”
Twins? Really? According to Connor it’s “because I’m also 4 now”.
LOL! Then this evening I was chatting to Connor about this, and asking him about his theory, and then he said “But anyway, I have 2 twins”
Seriously “Two twins?”
“Yes” he said, “But I don’t know who the other twin is yet”
Hmmm, makes me wonder again about that theory about kids and angels.
