There was a fascinating lady at the hairdresser’s this morning. She was having hair extentions done… looks absolutely gorgeous afterwards but anyhoo that’s not my story today.
She apparently reads palms! She was discussing husbands with Kirsty (my hairdresser) and they were mentioning that Kirsty’s palm says she’s going to get married again, and that her hand says she’s going to have 4 husbands (so she’s going to have 2 more marriages).
I was far too curious to let this one slide, so I asked her to look at my hand
I had to make a fist with my left hand, and she counted the lines under the baby finger creases and told me “3 husbands… but she can also see a death!”
LOL, I was too chicken to ask her more questions, because she can apparently tell about the length of the marriages too.
I’ve always wanted to go to a psychic of some sort… maybe I should this year some time.
I overheard the funniest conversation today while waiting for my cappucino at the office coffee bar. I suppose every parent has their own ideas about their child’s growth, but I just thought the comments were hillarious when I compared my boys to what the mom in question was saying.
Lady 1: “so he’s talking now and my daughter (didn’t catch their names) did at this age, he’s very clever”
Lady 2: “how old is he, 13 months?”
Lady 1: “No, 16 months”
Lady 2: “He’s very big, compared to your daughter”
Lady 1: “Yes, he’s huge, he already weighs 10KG (22lb) and she only weighs 12kg (26lb) and she’s 4!!”
Lady 2: “My word, that’s a rugby player in the making”
OMW, did I laugh! Connor is the same age as her son… and the last time he was weighed at 13 months, he was already 14.5kg (32lb)! Her son is tiny man… there’s no rugby player there!
LOL!
I was in the lift at work this morning with 2 “girls” who were discussing men. LOL, I had to write this down.
Girl 1: ”… so we’re going to meet for drinks.”
Girl 2: “And, what’s he like? Is he nice?”
Girl 1: “I don’t really remember… I don’t absorb every guy I meet”
Say what???!?!? Absorb??? What a strange word to use!

I had such a lovely time at Laura’s 30th on Saturday night, and I haven’t had a chance before now to jot it down. I left Lance at home with the kids, and went jol’ing with my friends, it was soooo nice!
We all met on the internet on a moms forum. Now normally, when the bunch of us go out, it’s with kids and during the day. And when we meet up at night, it’s normally just the “girls” at bookclub or a ladies night out on the town. This time it was different, half the ladies brought their partners/husbands… but shame, they were a bit outnumbered and the conversations continued as if they weren’t around
. If fact, they got ganged up against in some scenarios.
Hee hee! I’m probably going to get a bit of flack for this from some of the partygoers, but here are some of the topics that were discussed… just for fun… because I really enjoyed them.
…Husbands that don’t make sure their wive’s cars are roadworthy… well.. kindof… we were ganging up against the one husband because he was moaning that his wife’s car’s clutch was about to give in. I mean really… surely he should take more notice. LOL!
…The smell that eminates from cooking chicken’s feet… a township delicacy.
…Who is emigrating and how far they are and where they are going… the standard conversation at every party at the moment.
And once the wine started flowing it just deteriorated… basically a continuation from some bookclub conversations…
…How often you should have sex a week
…Sending your partner s&x SMSes once a day makes difference
…The new vibrator on the market that you can hook up to an iPod! (Thought Veronica would enjoy that one
)
…Whether 10 minutes is enough time for a quickie
…Blowj%bs in under 10 minutes and whether you do them or not
LOL, it was a fun night
You should have seen some of the partners faces, some were very keen on bookclub after that

Aren’t you fascinated by the people who you sit next to on aeroplanes? I am, and I am one of those irritating people who strike up conversations with strangers on planes.
I flew to Cape Town today (the photo was taken at the Waterfront when we went for a walk this evening), and I sat next to a fascinating person!
Him and his partner flew into South Africa from Oregon, US… and the reason… to dig for crystals in the Kalahari! They’re not here for long, only 16 days… which to me is MAD! Why come all this way for such a short time? They’d just arrived in the country and were spending 2 days in Cape Town before heading off for the Kalahari.
How cool is that?!
This morning on the morning show on 94.7, there was a power report in which they said that there would be a blackout in Krugersdorp from 2pm to 8pm today.
Then Jeremy Mansfield pipes up that you can’t call it blackouts anymore, it’s not politically correct, you now have to refer to those areas as previously lit.
Hee hee!
But then 5 minutes later on the news they had a report from Eskom which said they are not expecting any planned rolling blackouts until the end of the weekend, as there is enough capacity now.
Say what? Which story must we believe?
A guy got in the lift (elevator) with me in the car parkade this evening. I was on my way home.
He was on his cell phone as he got in the lift, and this is what he said to the person on the other end.
“Honey, I’m working late. I have a deadline that I have to meet. I’ll be here for quite a long time”
I didn’t hear anything else, because at that point he got out of the lift, to go to his car.
Ja right! I wonder where he was going, because he was clearly not staying at the office. Hee hee!
