I have such a bad memory!

March 25, 2008 filed under Uncategorized | Comments Closed

Do you remember all your old boyfriends name?  And what about guys that you had dates with, but didn’t actually take things further with?

I’m so bad!  I can’t remember most of their names!  OK, I did “see” a lot of guys in my youth, but still, I think it’s a bit shocking.

I was conducting an interview today in the restaurant in our building, and noticed a guy (a visitor to the building… he had a tag on) staring at me.  When we finished and we walked past the table I realised…. oh shite… I dated the guy!!

My colleague laughed at me when I told him how I knew the guy, and the fact that I could not remember his name AT ALL!

LOL!

On a more serious note… if you’re interested in reading about my failed attempt of getting photos of a squatter camp, read here… I don’t usually link from this blog like this, but I couldn’t decide where to post it.

Oh crap, I’ve edited this because I’m having second thoughts about my other post.  Maybe I shouldn’t have said what I did.  I might just chicken out and delete most of it, and leave the nicer bits.

You know you're getting old when…

February 20, 2008 filed under Uncategorized | Comments Closed

…you receive an email from your school facebook group asking which month and venue in 2009 would be suitable for a reunion.

Holy Moly! And then you work it out and realise that it’ll be 20 years next year!

OMW!  I don’t feel that old.

One year old today

February 16, 2008 filed under Uncategorized | Comments Closed

Connor turned one today.  And boy, what a day.  It was hectic!  The party was a resounding success, even though the cleanup was a nightmare!

I remember this day last year, like it was yesterday.  Getting told that I wasn’t going home, and that if I didn’t have Connor soon I would risk heart failure.  So, I had a caesar later that day.  Poor Lance had to run around packing my bags, because they weren’t ready yet.  Anyhow, if you’re interested the full story is here.  I don’t think of his birth with much happiness, even though the caesar was a breeze; because the time he spent in NICU was so hard (if you follow the NICU tags you can read more about it).

We’ve come a long way.  Connor is BIG and strong and healthy :) .   Today was a happy day.
It was a perfect day in fact. The party was just big enough. There weren’t that many kids, but there were enough. It was lovely having it at home, rather than a venue.
Here are some pics from today…

Hey, this is my cake!
Yummy tigger cake

Elaine and Connor about to open presents (she’s my sister and Connor’s godmother)

Having fun in the splash pool with mom (the older kids were in the big pool)
Connor walking in pool
Wet Connor

He was exhausted by the end of the party (partly because he refused to sleep and miss out on anything).

Party at home

February 15, 2008 filed under Uncategorized | Comments Closed

It’s Connor’s birthday and his party tomorrow so you’re going to get inundated with photos :)   Consider yourself warned.

I’m so disorganised with this party though.  Bradley had a massive first party because we went to a baby stimulation class and knew so many babies that were the same age.  Bradley’s party was at a venue, with a gorgeous cake and was completely over-catered.

Poor Connor, I feel like I’m letting him down.  I sent the invites to his party out late.  Lance eventually ordered the cake because I ran out of time.  I got the food last minute, and in fact haven’t got all of it yet.  There aren’t many babies, in fact, only one baby his age coming to his party.  We’ve had quite a few cancellations.

I have a crazy amount of stuff still to do.  I have to wrap pressies.  Fill party boxes.  Sort out the house.  Buy wors and rolls and wine etc. Pick up the cake from the shop. Pick the jumping castle up tomorrow morning, somehow, in my car (not forgetting that I’ve left the details at work and I now have to figure out who I ordered it from LOL)!  And all this before noon!

OMW!  I’m crazy.  Should have just done it at a venue.

Anyway, ciao for now, have to wrap his pressies before I head for bed.

What family remembers…

January 10, 2007 filed under Uncategorized | Comments Closed

Last night we had a family farewell supper for E, and she invited her new boyfriend.
Trust her to find someone a week before she leaves for Sweden!!  LOL!!

Nice guy.

Anyway, everyone was talking about the differences between the 3 of us while we were at varsity….  E started, by saying how wild I was compared to her and C.
They then told B (E’s boyfriend) and L about the time when I got escorted home by a police helicopter.  It was one night when I was at varsity, and I drove home from clubbing early one morning.  A police helicopter was in the area, and started following my car.
My dad said he remembers waking up at around 3/4am with the entire house and garden lit up with the spotlights from the heli.  He looked outside, and I was waving to it.  It waited until I was in the house, and then flew away.

Isn’t that hillarious!!??!!  I couldn’t remember that at ALL, until they mentioned it last night.  I have no idea where I had been.

L thought it was very funny. LMAO!! He hadn’t heard that story before.
