It feels so strange when you realise, as a mother, that your children are growing up. There’s something about certain things that they do, that signify that they’re getting bigger.
Today, it was Bradley telling jokes.
It might not seem a big thing for those of you reading my blog, that don’t have kids. But before now, he’s never really found jokes funny. He’s listened to them, but they haven’t stuck in his head, and he hasn’t laughed when he heard them.
And that’s changed.
He was telling us 2 jokes tonight, and they were so cute!
“Why did the worms go into the ark in an apple?”
.
.
.
“Because all the other animals went in pairs!”
And then…
“What do you call a sheep on a trampoline?”
.
.
.
“A woolly jumper!”
I love that he’s understanding them now and finding them funny 🙂
OH LOL! It took me a while to get the pairs one *blush*
Yes, I totally know what you mean and I can’t wait to witness this all over again with David. Once they crest, though, it’s an amazing ride!
I love now that I can joke with Kevin especially since he has such grown up humour
I’m looking forward to that! At the moment, J and I will laugh at something and Zack instantly chimes in with laughing cause he doesn’t want to be left out, bless him! 🙂
Whoopsie… that was supposed to read “Marylin” >_<
That is why I love reading blogs by parents… I would never have thought this a milestone, but of course, you are right… it IS a milestone! Enjoy! I’m parenting vicariously through you and a few others moms!
It’s so cute when they do start telling jokes. It gets a bit much when you are on a 7 hour trip and they won’t stop and expect you to laugh every time but it’s still cute
ah yes, that is such a cool step in the growing up process!
