Connor has had to have a pump every morning and night ever since he got pneumonia last year, and the only way to keep the mask on his face is to sing to him (and with him). His favourite song while this is happening, is Puff the Magic Dragon. So, I’m not surprised that he knows all the words to the song.
When he was in hospital last week, he was singing the song on his own while we waited for the anaethetist in theatre. I think it was his way to relax.
I managed to catch him singing the song on Saturday using my Blackberry (so excuse the crap quality) 🙂 and of course I have to blog about it! He’s only singing the second verse here, he didn’t want to go back to the beginning for me to record the whole thing.
This is the part he was singing, if you can’t hear it properly:
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah LeeTogether they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff’s gigantic tail,
Noble kings and princes would bow whene’er they came,
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name. OhPuff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee
Awww, just want to hug him, so cute!
Aww bless him!
I couldn’t pick up the video, but I do remember that song so very well. My grandma taught it to me, and I taught it to Stacey. It’s one of my favourites!
Love the dramatic umbrella at the end !!! Big hug to my big boy!
Me too Janet .. one of my favourites! We had a long playing record which was played over and and over again – maybe that’s why Jeanette loves it too! Think I still have it!
Ag he is so cute! Why do kids all just love an umbrella – my photo of the day for Friday also involves an umbrella.
We also have the pump for C (asthma) but he has been using it from 6 months of age so he actually brings it, lie down and count the breath. LOL!
Aaaawww… I hope he feels better soon!
