I did something rather different today.  I went for my very first Reiki session at lunchtime, and got an added Body Talk session included.

Now, I’ve known about Reiki and what it’s about for a number of years, but had never heard of Body Talk sessions until last week.   This is from Brent’s info that I was sent.

BodyTalk is an astonishingly simple and effective holistic therapy that allows the body’s energy systems to be re-synchronized so they can operate as nature intended.
Each system, cell, and atom is in constant communication with each other at all times.
Through exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, however, these lines of communication can become compromised or disconnected, which then leads to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental well-being.
Reconnecting these lines of communication enables the body’s internal mechanisms to function at optimal levels, thus repairing and preventing disease while rapidly accelerating the healing process.  In this way, BodyTalk stimulates the body’s innate ability to balance and heal itself on all levels.

Reiki is a traditional form of energy healing.
It works by the practitioner intuitively channelling healing and positive energies into the client’s aura / energy field and energy centres called chakras.  These energies help to draw out negative, stored and static energies.
Reiki will help with physical, emotional and mental healing and balancing.
Excellent in assisting people through transition periods and difficult times.

So Brent started with the Body Talk, which was pretty quick, and part way through it he asked whether I feared anything, because he feels that I fear something about death… seriously?! My biggest fear is dying while the kids are small. Dinkum! I’ve had this feeling for about 10 years now that I’m going to die at the age of 44 (there… I’ve said it… huge sigh).

I didn’t feel different after that experience though, although he said that the energy around the word would now be more matter of fact.

Anyway, then we did the Reiki. This took about an hour.  It was the strangest calming experience.  I could feel some heat wherever his hands were, even though they weren’t close to touching my body… although I didn’t feel energy per se, which is what friends said I would feel.

I’m really not sure what I was supposed to feel after this, but I can tell you that I felt like I’d had a few hours sleep, and that a few hours later I felt like I’ve spent a whole day at a spa, and I’m shattered!

When we finished, just as I was leaving, he said that I shouldn’t be so hard on myself and that I am actually ok (not in those words, he said that I am self judgemental and that I act like a parent towards myself)… he also said I should take more photos of nature… and be in nature, see the beauty around me again and become more grounded.

Hence, my daily photo today 😉
