Bradley started Grade 4 today… which is the start of senior primary for those not in South Africa. So, it’s a big deal… he starts exams this year, he moves classes this year for different subjects, he has piles more homework too!
And his school has an amazing tradition for this transition… called the short walk. After the first morning assembly, and after the flag has been raised and the bell tolled, all the kids in the school and the parents that attend form 2 parallel lines that basically run around most of the classes. The Grade 4’s then turn their blazers, caps and boaters inside out.
A bagpiper leads the Grade 4’s and the headmistress through the cheering lines of kids and parents to their new classrooms.
It’s such an awesome thing to watch… and this year to be a part of 🙂
My big boy has big things ahead of him this year 🙂
