It’s the 2nd Annual Tatto-a-thon happening around the country on the 29th of March 2013.

My word, I am so very tempted to get another tattoo!! I want to get the skyline of Joburg tattooed on my foot.  And I couldn’t think of a better cause to contribute to at the moment!

Last year they raised R70,000 for CHOC and this year they’re hoping to raise R500k.
CHOC is a nationwide organisation that provides holistic support for children suffering from cancer or life-threatening blood disorders, and their families. Along with the top tattoo studios in Cape Town, Joburg and Durban, the Tattoo-a-thon plans to raise the proceeds by generating a record 1000 tattoos in one day.
“The event brings a diverse group of South Africans together who are all eager to assist CHOC by being tattooed by South Africa’s most talented artists,” Says  Jordan Gray, founder of the Tattoo-a-thon.
The Tattoo-a-thon will feature talented tattoo artists from top studios such as Wildfire Tattoos, Sins of Style, Metal Machine, and Fallen Heroes.  “All tattoos are a set size, based on one hour of tattooing and will cost only R700. Participants can book their tattoo directly with the tattoo studio and can visit to choose an artist of their choice,” Says Manuela Gray, co-founder and owner of Wildfire Tattoos in Long Street, Cape Town.
There are a number of ways to get involved:
1.  Book a tattoo with an artist listed on the Tattoo-a-thon site.  They have artists listed for Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban
2.  If you don’t want to get another tattoo, then consider donating to CHOC instead.  You can either donate by SMS or depositing money into the CHOC account.  Details are on the tattoo-a-thon site.

So, who’s going to do it?
