Oh my word I’ve spent a lot of money this week… so I’m hoping that if I blog about it, I’ll somehow purge the memories from my brain and stop thinking about it 🙂
1. We’ve had the pool renovated. It’s almost finished. There have been a lot of people asking about it whenever I post a photo on Instagram, so in a nutshell this is what we had done. The pool was looking more like a dam really, and Lance could not get the Kreepy to work properly, so something had to be done… and he’d decided to paint the pool himself a few years ago and it was never quite the same after that. So we got a guy in to fix it. We had the baby pool removed… it was a very shallow pool attached to the main pool with a wall betweeen… and it was hell to clean… so it was time to just make that a big step! As a result the wall was removed. In the process of removing the wall, the pool guy discovered a massive leak. This meant that the whole renovation took a lot longer because we had to wait for it all to dry out!
We also had to re-marbellite the pool, replace the box that housed the motor, replace the DV board, and replace all the mosaics!
As I type this, the pool is finally being filled with water, and the chemicals will be added tomorrow and we’ll be able to start our summer 🙂 YAY for a good contractor! If you’re looking for a pool renovator, look up Aquablu Pools, Tony is fabulous!
2. The weather report for KZN isn’t looking too hot, literally, for the weekend, so I’ve had to go and find closed shoes and a jacket to wear with my gorgeous dress that I bought for my sister’s wedding. Managed to find the most gorgeous jackets at Zara and so very reasonably priced too! In fact, I’m going to go back and buy a few more colours… I feel like having a few blazers in my wardrobe!
3. Then to top the week off, our fridge packed up! So last night we beatled off to Clearwater to find another fridge… and walked into the Samsung store and walked out 10 minutes later with a receipt and a promise that it would be delivered today! We also discovered a secret with dealing with the Samsung store… it seems their goods are a little overpriced! We knew that the fridge we wanted was on special at Makro, but also knew that Makro was closed by the time we could get to the shops. So, after telling the sales person the price at Makro… they dropped their price by R1500 to match it! Score!
Not that it was delivered today… I hate it when sales people tell you one thing, and in reality it’s not going to be delivered! After a fight with the store today, it’ll get delivered tomorrow, so my food is currently sitting on my counter top and going off!
Lets hope the rest of the week goes as planned 🙂 LOL! I know it’s going to be expensive anyway… travelling for a wedding is never a cheap affair but this will be most worth it, and this part of the spending has been planned for months!
