I’ve just had the most awesome time today… a market with friends (and family), awesome live music by Matthew Mole, and fabulous food… and a spot of shopping!!

What a fantastic start to my long Easter weekend!!

I dropped the kids off at Hilary’s house this morning, and the 2 of us went to the Kamersvol Geskenke market being held at the Forum in Bryanston this weekend. I’ve been DYING to go to a Kamersvol market after seeing so many blog posts about them over the years, and I knew I had to make a plan to get to this one as soon as I saw posts about it! This is the first time it’s being held in Johannesburg… and I’m hoping they’ll do it here again!

I was in my element with all the gorgeous homeware, jewellery and clothing on offer at the market. I could’ve spent a fortune!

Apart from shopping, we also had some of the most awesome food. First, we bought cappuccino’s from Roast Republic (part of the profits go towards educating a community in Limpopo) and sipped on that while we browsed the market.

Then as we were almost finished browsing, my sister phoned and said they had a spot on the lawn in front of the stage, and Matthew Mole was about to start his set!! So off we went… and grabbed a most yummy pizza type bread thing to share (I cannot remember the name of the stall that sold it or what it was actually called… but believe me it was yummy). Oh and we bought some chocolate hot cross buns for dessert and drank some Persian Lime cordials!

And then it was time to settle down and enjoy Matthew Mole’s gorgeous music 🙂

It was an amazing few hours… it’s well worth the trip and the R75 entrance fee 😉  Just remember to take cash as well as a credit card, as not all the stalls took cards.
