We went to Hermanus on Thursday to visit my aunt and uncle. We really didn’t have much time after ambling along the coastal road and stopping quite a few times to take in the gorgeous views. We actually really need to spend more time in the town, now that the kids are older and can do more things there.
For this day trip, we’d packed swimming cozzies, because the sun was shining and it was hot in Strand. Well, thankfully we packed jackets because it was pretty stormy on the other side of the mountain. So instead of heading for the beach, we took them to the new harbour to see the fishing boats before we headed off to lunch.
The kids really enjoyed the time in the harbour, and we watched some commercial divers training for quite some time, and then walked on the harbour wall for a bit. They would have preferred to get on one of the whale watching boats that go from the harbour, and have milkshakes at the Harbour Dock restaurant… but that’ll have to wait until our next trip.
Next time we come to the Cape, we’ll definitely spend a few days in the town.
Also… not sure if you’ve noticed, but I got in the photos again! I’m making a point of being in the photos on this trip 🙂 the kids are also really enjoying being the photographers.
