We visited a few wine farms while in Cape Town, and this one was by far the best.
Steenberg is on the Constantia wine route, and was really close to Muizenberg where we were staying so we popped there for a quick wine tasting one afternoon… while Hilary visited her friend (if you’re wondering why it was just the 3 of us there)
We chose the Flagship tasting menu, and it started with the 1682 Pinot Noir MCC. Bubbles are always a good start to an afternoon 😉 and in fact we bought a bottle to celebrate the Two Oceans race a few days later.
My favourite red wine was the Catharina, and favourite white wine was The Black Swan – so we bought some bottles of those too!
Can you see them sitting there? How stunning was this setting?
I could have spent the entire day there! Next trip, I’m going to try and go back, and have a meal at the diner.
This was the only wine farm we visited on that wine route, we’ll definitely be back to explore some more!
