When we travel to Cape Town, we always drive to Hermanus for a day to see my aunt and uncle. This time, we had lunch at The Tasting Room at Stanford Hills Estate just outside Stanford.
The Tasting Room is awesome! The views are magnificent from the restaurant. We loved that it was right at the vineyard and that you could see the whole valley. The only pity was the dam was being fixed when we were there, so it didn’t look as amazing as the photos on the website. Also, probably because of the drought! There was a sign up banning swimming in the dam… I can just imagine how much fun the kids would have there when it’s warmer and the dam is full.
The food at the restaurant was amazing. There’s a chalk board on the wall that lists the food available that day. From the chicken curry to the burgers, we all really enjoyed our meals.
It’s such an awesome place, with so much space for kids to run around in. I should’ve taken photos of the life-sized wooden tractor in the play area… what an awesome piece of equipment to play on!
The best part was spending time with my family. It’s a pity we see our Cape family so rarely.
Aren’t these proteas amazing? They’re grown on the farm!
It’s a stunning place to spend the day having a slow relaxed meal with friends and family.
