I’ve been looking for new sneakers to wear on weekends for a few weeks now. A few new pairs of sneakers for summer would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. Superbalist has such an awesome selection of sneakers so that’s the perfect site to go browsing.

As you probably know if you follow me everywhere, I’ve really been struggling with a running injury for months. I’m actually feeling quite desperate about the whole thing actually. After seeing a podiatrist (which was a disaster and is the subject of a future blog post) and a bio kineticist recently, I’ve realised that I really need to up my shoe game.

I really need to stop using unstructured flat shoes to do photoshoots as it’s really not helping my foot recover enough for running. So, I need a few pairs of funky new kicks!

I’m looking for a few pairs actually. Apart from sneakers that I could wear with shorts and jeans for weekend family photo sessions, I need something that would work at a wedding. Sneakers that would be able to be worn with my standard black wedding outfits consisting of skirts and dresses.

You know, that’s one thing I really noticed when I went to London earlier this year on business. Everyone has the most awesome sneakers to walk around in. And it was OK to wear them in the office with your smart dresses and suits. I really wish it was OK to do that here! I would quite happily live in sneakers.

Anyway after browsing though the Superbalist site, here are my top 5 sneakers for summer:

1. Adidas Originals Haven

The 70’s retro look of these Adidas Original Sneakers speak to me. I’m not at all sure why I need a pink pair of sneakers but I’m loving the look of these.

2. Stan Smiths in silver

I really need a shiny pair of sneakers in my wardrobe. I just love how they look with any kind of outfit really.

3. Nike Classic Cortez

Are these funky? I love all the colours in this shoe actually. It would work so well with shorts and jeans. Actually, I’d wear this with a dress too. You have to check out this range on the Nike Sneakers page on the site.

4. Adidas Originals NMD_R2

These look like they’d still feel like slippers after 8 hours on my feet at a wedding! I like the fact that the mid-sole is cushioned so it would be a really comfy fit.

5. White Stan Smith Original Sneakers

Oh wow how I love these white old school Stan Smith sneakers. This particular shoe with the green bit on the heel is my favourite from that Adidas Original Sneakers range. I absolutely love wearing green, so this would work with a lot of my wardrobe.

OMW can’t I just get sneakers in all the colours? Choosing is so tough!

I’ve also realised looking at this list, that I’m still not prioritising my need for support. There’s only one shoe that’ll work for long days on my feet.

Did you know that Superbalist will give you R250 off for first time buyers on their app? There’s an Android and an iOS app, so there’s no excuse really. Think I’ll get my sneakers for summer from the app instead of the website actually.
